The Annual General Meeting of the WOODWORKERS of the SOUTHERN PENINSULA INC. is to be held on Wednesday, 10 November 2021 at the Club Rooms – 66B Elizabeth Ave, Capel Sound, 3940

As always, the health and safety of our members is the committee’s biggest priority. Therefore we are reopening in accordance with the Victorian government’s operating restrictions. Please familiarize yourself with these guidelines (below) to see what we’re doing to keep us all safe.
Dennis’s funeral is at 2pm tomorrow, 26th October. Covid restricts the number of people who can attend. However, you can pay a tribute to Dennis on the Rosebud Funerals website.
It is also possible to follow the service as it will be live streamed.
The committee is planning to have a Christmas lunch on Wednesday 15th December in the Blue Water Room at the Rye Hotel at 12 noon.
A 2 course senior’s meal will be $25. A cash bar will be available.
Once the workshop opens an attendance register will be placed on the Notice Board.
It is with much sadness that I am advising everyone of the passing of Dennis Capper last Monday.
Until sickness slowed him down, Dennis was a very active member of our club. He was an extremely talented singer & would often sing at a variety of functions on the Mornington Peninsula.
His passing has not been long after his wife Veronica died.
The club wishes to pass on its sympathies to his son Adam who is also an active member of our club.

Recently the club received a grant from the Bendigo Bank to assist in covering costs for the club’s toy making efforts & its rent. In COVID times it is very much appreciated as the club is restricted in its fundraising efforts

A very special piece of Scott Hanley’s woodworking art was selected out of 30 worldwide to be displayed virtually at the Huntington Beach Art Gallery, Los Angeles USA. It’s called “Searching with Dog”.
Mobile Chair Rack
The chairs used for meetings have been stored under the stairs and are always sliding away from their allocated area. The solution has been simple to someone with a bit of imagination and the ability to weld. Enter Greg Knox. What a great job Greg has done. Generally we think of club members as woodworkers & not having metalworking skills. However Greg designed what was needed, obtained the appropriate metal then cut & welded the chair rack.
